Arai Te Uru Reserve Walk

Northland

Time: 15 min return

Distance: 360 m

Start: Hokianga Heads, 56 km west of Kaikohe. From Kaikohe, travel west along SH12 to Omapere. Take a right into Signal Station Rd. The reserve and carpark is at the end of the road. Google Maps directions

The reserve is located at the South Head of Hokianga Harbour on Northland's west coast. Covering the southern headland of the Hokianga Harbour, this reserve offers magnificent views over the harbour and along the wild west coast. A short walk leads to the site of an old signal station built to assist ships making the treacherous passage into the Hokianga. It closed in 1951 due to a decline in ships entering the harbour. A track also heads down to pretty little Martin's Bay.

We were picked up promptly from the terminal at Auckland airport and taken to the dept to collect our car. We were dealt with efficiently and friendly by the receptionist and within no time at all we were in our way. The car was very clean and in good condition. On our return again we were dealt with by the staff in a friendly and professional manner. I would definitely book with Ezi Car again.
