Please note that a credit card or debit card is required to hire with us. The applicable excess amount for your hire will be held as an authorisation on your card as security, and released at the end of your hire. We do not accept cash for the bond security.
All our cars are covered 24 hours a day by our partners at First Assistance.
We keep it easy for you. There is no cancellation fee. If you wish to cancel your booking please let us know. You can cancel your booking online by clicking on “Manage a booking” section or you can phone us or email us on [email protected].
Child seats are now compulsory in New Zealand for every child under 8 years of age and may be hired from our branches. Please order at time of reservation stating age of child so the correct size may be booked. Please note we do not hire baby capsules for infants under the age of 6 months. We recommend that you bring your own baby capsule with you when travelling.
All Ezi Car Rental vehicles are insured under a comprehensive motor vehicle policy. All rentals are covered under this policy but carry an excess liability of between NZ$2,500 – NZ$4,000 depending on the category of vehicle rented. We provide customers the option to purchase optional excess reduction products to either reduce the excess liability to between $300 - $500 or to waive it entirely to $0. These options and excess liabilities are presented in full through the booking process.
All drivers must hold a full driver’s licence and be over the age of 20. A current full New Zealand or International licence is required from all intending drivers. Customers with a non-English international driver licence must provide a valid translation or international driver permit at vehicle collection.
In the event that the hirer cancels or voids the agreement, or returns the vehicle earlier than stated in the rental contract, no refund applies. Vehicle hire charges are non-refundable and non-transferable.
One way hire fees apply for rental car hires picking up and returning at different branches. Applicable one-way fees will be included in our online quotes.
We do not require a deposit payment to confirm reservations. Full payment of your rental is required when collecting your vehicle.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express credit and debit cards. These cards must show the customer's name, signature and card number, with the applicable logo. Prepaid and Reloadable Debit cards and gift cards, as well as Travel cards are not accepted for securing your booking/security but can be used for payment.
A card transaction fee of 2.2% for MasterCard and Visa and 4% for American Express applies to the total rental charges including GST (but excluding any Airport and Wharf fees and the GST on these fees) where a credit or debit card is used for payment. The card transaction fee is subject to GST.
In the event that the hirer returns the vehicle with an empty tank of gas, or less than the level it was hired out on, the cost of the petrol plus an administration fee will be charged to the hirer’s credit card to recover these costs.
Rates quoted on our website are charged per day and are inclusive of all additional fees including one-way fees, premium location (airport) fees and all applicable taxes. All prices quoted are in New Zealand dollars.
All hires are 24 hours duration. Please contact us if you wish to extend any hire, and we will do our upmost to oblige, subject to availability.
Goods and Services Tax (GST) (15%) is included in all daily car hire prices.
